Young Designer Awards - Fashion Category 2009
Nicole Pollard, a Year 10 student at Diocesan School for Girls in Auckland, is this year's winner of the Fashion Category in the Young Designer Awards.

Nicole's garment, which she started designing in Term 1, featured a feathered skirt and bodice with military style jacket. Interviewed on TV3's Sunrise programme after winning the award, Nicole said she took inspiration from Karen Walker's designs and was also a fan of Stolen Girlfriends Club along with Lonely Hearts, World and Zambezi.
